Irene Collazo is the Language Access Program Coordinator for the Administrative Office of the Courts in Oklahoma City, OK. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, her interest in English linguistics inspired a career in translation. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English Linguistics and Communication from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus, and later travelled to London, England to pursue a Master of Arts in Translation Studies from University College London.
With a rich background as a translator, interpreter, editor, and proofreader—both freelance and in-house—Irene brings a deep commitment to language access and community connection to her role. She is dedicated to elevating the Language Access Program by fostering collaboration and support among Registered and Certified interpreters, and by cultivating a welcoming, inclusive environment for all.
Beyond her professional work, Irene is an avid traveler with a special love for returning to her homeland of Puerto Rico. She also enjoys discovering local coffee shops and immersing herself in diverse cultures wherever she goes.
